How to Fix Error Code 5100 on a Canon MX700

The Canon Pixma MX700 multifunction printer includes an LCD display that shows various error codes whenever a hardware or software problem occurs. Each error code is tied to a specific type of issue to make the troubleshooting process easier. Error code 5100 describes a physical problem either with a paper jam or an incorrectly seated ink tank. Resolving the error is a quick process that only requires a few standard troubleshooting procedures.

Instructions

1) Press down and hold the "On/Off" button, which is located on the printer's operator panel, for one second. Wait 15 seconds and then tap the button again. Attempt to print or scan a document.

2) Check the paper feed tray on the front end of the Canon MX700 to see if there is any paper visibly stuck inside the printer. Open the printer cover by gripping the front edge of the printer and lifting upwards.

3) Grab the edge of the jammed paper and gently pull towards you to remove the paper from the paper feeder. Unplug the Canon's power cable and USB cable, and then turn the printer around.

4) Pull off the rear plastic cover tab and check if there is any visible paper jam. Grab the edge of the paper and gently pull toward you until the paper is removed.

5) Push the rear plastic cover tab back into place, and reconnect the power cable and USB cable. Attempt to print or scan another document to see if the error is resolved.

6) Lift open the printer's cover again and wait for the ink carriage to slide into view. Press the "Push" button on the front of the first ink tank. Pull the tank out and then push it back into place to ensure it is properly seated.

7) Repeat the process with the other three ink tanks, and then close the printer's cover. Power the printer off and then back on again.

Fix Printer Error 49

Printer Error 49 usually appears when you are attempting to print a document using a HP printer and then a communication failure error occurs between the computer and the printer. However, there are other probable causes for this message with an error 49 code to appear. There is a chance that it is related to the file that is being printed, or it could be due to a firmware problem. You must determine the cause of the problem and then fix the error to be able to make use of your printer again. This tutorial will guide you how to resolve printer error 49 on HP printers.

HP printer error 49 is typically caused by invalid print commands, damaged or corrupted data, invalid operations or sometimes registry issues. Some problems that can be easily fixed are caused by poor quality of the parallel cables that connect the printer to the computer. To stop the error messages from appearing, you must make sure that all possible causes are ruled out.

The way to fix HP printer error 49 is to first calibrate the printer. You can calibrate your printer by performing all these steps:

  1. Clear the print job from memory by pressing the Cancel Job command.
  2. Restart the printer by turning it off and on again.
  3. Print another job and this time from a different program.
  4. If the job printing was successful, return to the first application and print another file.
  5. If the error message shows up only with a specific software program or print job, contact the software vendor to get assistance from them.
  6. If the error message persists even with a different software application and print job, take off all the cables that connect the printer to the PC or the network and then turn off the printer.
  7. Open the printer and remove the entire set of memory DIMMS or third party DIMMS, but, DO NOT remove the firmware DIMM inserted in slot J1.
  8. Also, remove all the EIO devices from the computer.
  9. Turn on the printer again.
  10. If the error message does not appear again, then one by one return each of the DIMMS and EIO devices and turn the printer on and off each time you install a device.
  11. If you have pinpointed a specific device, replace it.
  12. Reconnect all the cables to hook the printer back up again to the computer or network.
  13. If the error code 49 still persists, replace the DIMM firmware.
  14. Lastly, replace the formatter of the printer and then calibrate the printer again.

fter calibrating your HP printer, you have to make sure that your Windows registry is free from errors. The registry is an important component of Windows that stores all file and program settings that allow your operating system remember to load and use the different programs on your PC. Despite its significance in your system, it can be affected by the constant use it inevitably undergoes. How to Replace a Fuser on an IBM InfoPrint 40

Follow the instruction to Replace a Fuser on an IBM InfoPrint 40

1) Turn the printer off and then remove the power cord from the electrical outlet.

2) Remove the power cord connection from the back of the printer.

3) Wait 20 minutes for the printer to cool down. If it has not completely cooled, wait an additional 10 minutes and then check it again. Do not proceed unless the printer has cooled down adequately.

4) Push the auxiliary tray, bin feeder or other bin that is attached to the duplex unit up slightly and then pull it out of the printer. If your printer does not have any of these attachments installed, skip this step and go to step 5.

Troubleshoot an IBM Infoprint 1145

Follow the instruction to fix the issue in IBM printer

1) Check that you connected your printer to the power outlet correctly. The plug that goes into the wall or extension cord must go in all the way down to the rubber end of the plug.

2) Verify the USB connection between your printer and the computer if you have your printer connected to a computer. Try other USB ports on your computer to make sure that your problem doesn’t come from a fault in the computer’s USB port itself.

3) Disassemble your printer's exterior while consulting your operation manual and clean it up with compressed air or a small vacuum cleaner. Reassemble it after you finish.

4) Check the error code written on the small LED panel after you restart your printer. Consult your operation manual to see what you should do in your error’s case.

Konica Minolta Magicolor 2530DL Troubleshooting

Konica Minolta released the Magicolor 2530 DL printer in the summer of 2006. This printer is designed for small offices or home offices, with a maximum output of 20 pages per minute in black and white and five pages per minute in color. The maximum resolution is 2400 dots per inch by 600 dots per inch. This printer is no longer available for sale new, but replacement cartridges can still be found. As with all printers, the Magicolor 2530 is prone to occasional issues, but Konica Minolta provides helpful troubleshooting tips.

Misfeeds
1) Make sure that all paper you are loading into the Magicolor printer matches the printer's specifications for acceptable media. Folded or bent paper can cause misfeeds and paper jams. If the paper is too moist (or has been stored in a humid area), it may stick together from the paper tray and cause the printer to jam.

2) Check under the printer. If the printer is off-balanced, the paper may not feed correctly. It is best to keep the printer on a flat surface.

3) Avoid overfilling the paper tray (which has a maximum capacity of 200 sheets). Also try not to load different sizes and types of paper at the same time. Printing on transparencies can cause misfeeds, especially if you ran the transparencies first, because this causes static to accumulate.

Clearing a Paper Jam
1) Remove any paper in the output tray. Pull the lever on the front edge of the printer's top, and then slide open the top cover. Pull on the laser drum cartridge gently to lift it out of the printer. Place the cartridge on a flat, dry surface and try to avoid putting it down in direct sunlight.

2) Push the two gray levers on either side of the printer as far back as possible. You should now be able to see any paper that is misfed. Pull gently on the paper to remove it. If no paper is stuck here, flip the latches back down, reinstall the cartridge and proceed to Step Three.

3) Pull out the paper tray as far as it will go, and then lift up and pull more to remove it completely. Reach into the back of the paper drawer and feel for loose paper. Pull gently on the paper to remove it from the system. Lift up on the front lid of the paper tray to remove it. Take all of the paper out of the tray, fan it, tap it on a flat surface to align it all, and then reinsert it. Reattach the lid and insert the paper tray back into the printer.

4) Pull the printer out from the wall to access the duplex cover. When printing double-sided copies, the paper is pulled back into this area and can sometimes jam. Pull on the duplex cover to open it. If paper is jammed here, you can see it clearly and remove it by pulling gently upward.
