How to Replace a Fuser on an IBM InfoPrint 40

Follow the instruction to Replace a Fuser on an IBM InfoPrint 40

1) Turn the printer off and then remove the power cord from the electrical outlet.

2) Remove the power cord connection from the back of the printer.

3) Wait 20 minutes for the printer to cool down. If it has not completely cooled, wait an additional 10 minutes and then check it again. Do not proceed unless the printer has cooled down adequately.

4) Push the auxiliary tray, bin feeder or other bin that is attached to the duplex unit up slightly and then pull it out of the printer. If your printer does not have any of these attachments installed, skip this step and go to step 5.

5) Open the duplex unit cover.

6) Open the toner cartridge cover.

7) Loosen the fuser screws, one on each side. The fuser locking screws will stay connected to the printer.

8) Pull the two orange rings on the used fuser and then take it out of the printer.

9) Dispose of the used toner according to your city guidelines for disposing of used fuser consumables.

10) Take the new fuser out of the usage kit and then hold the two orange rings and insert it into the printer. Verify that the new fuser is level inside the printer.

11) Screw the fuser screws back tightly.

12) Close the covers to the toner cartridge and fuser sections, and then close the duplex unit, if one was originally installed.

13) Reattach all of the bins that were removed earlier to the front of the duplex unit.
